It has been some busy days after my arrival in Kathmandu. I have spent time together with good friends and finished the last preparations for my Everest Expedition that starts tomorrow. We will fly to Lukla in the Mount Everest Region tomorrow. Finally will we be on our way up to Everest BaseCamp and the big goal. Trying to summit Mount Everest. The next two months will be spent up in the mountains of Himalaya.
I am going with Acsent Himalayas Treks and Expedtions a nepalese company on these expedition. In the team are we 4 from Norway, 2 from Ireland, 1 from England, 1 from USA and 1 from Japan. In total are we 9 persons, 7 men and 2 women that will be living together 24/7 and work for the same goal as individuals.
I feel so at home in Kathmandu. When I arrived the first day was it as if I had not been away for four months. I felt like I started where I ended last December. My friend Michelle that arrived in Kathmandu one week before I left last time was still her, so I needed a hole day to catch up with her.
I have also spent time just walking around in the town.
It is well known that women love to shop shoes:-) So do I:-) My new shoes for the expedition.
I am a last minute person. Now for example is the time 11.30 pm, we will be picked up at 5.30 am tomorrow morning to go to the airport. I have some packing left before I am ready. But I know I will be ready in time. I always do.
I had to do some last minute shopping to today.
I have some books and Notebooks with me……
The day before the day. You might wonder how it feels to finally be at the starting point of this expedition. I feel peaceful inside and can’t wait to come up in the mountains again. Life is good.
